NCL Mexican Riviera Cruise Day 3: Aqua Main Restaurant Dinner

We tried to go to Versailles Main Restaurant for dinner, but since we were wearing jeans, they wouldn’t let us in. They had a rule of no jeans allowed after 5pm. So we went to the more casual Aqua Main Restaurant for dinner. Both main restaurants serve exact same menu, but usually Aqua has longer wait.  I guess most people don’t feel like dressing up every night for dinner when they are on the cruise just to relax.

After putting our name down with the hostess, we waited for about 20 minutes for a 2 person table.  I like the little sparkly lights on the ceiling.

I thought dinner would have more Mexican food since we ported at Cabo San Lucas that day.  But guess not.

5 types of main entrees to choose from.  Meat, chicken, fish, pasta and vegetarian.

And desserts, of course.

Bread

Bread as usual.

Tuna Tartare – Kyoto Style

Tuna tartare was really good.  It was served with soy-sesame oil with seaweed on top.  Very tasty.  We actually ordered another plate.

Papaya, Mango and Kiwi Cocktail

The fruit salad with mascarpone cheese and passion fruit syrup tasted like…. fruit.  Nothing special about it, but refreshing I guess.

Spicy Tortilla Soup

Spicy tortilla soup with corn, lime, and roasted chilies.  Dr. P really liked this soup.

Fatoush

Fatoush is a Middle Eastern style salad with chopped tomato, sliced cucumber, sliced red pepper and pieces of pita bread.  It was pretty tasty.

Roasted Monkfish Fillet

The roasted monkfish fillet was perfect.  It was the most delicious fish we had on this whole trip.

8 oz. Grilled Sirloin

The sirloin steak was from the “always available” menu.  The steak was cooked medium, just the way we like it.  It was tender and juicy, served with peppercorn sauce.  Even french fries was perfect.

Cooking Light Banana Split Cheesecake

The Banana Split Cheesecake was the first cooking light dessert that we actually liked.  The cheesecake really tasted like banana split.  Yum!

Warm Apple Bread Pudding

Warm apple bread pudding was delicious as well.

This was the best meal we had on this trip.  We absolutely loved everything we had.  Delicious!

After dinner, we went to see the Murray SawChuck Magic Show.  No camera allowed in the theater so I quickly snapped a blurry shot.  I thought the show was just alright.  The magic part was good, but I didn’t think the comedy part was that funny though.

We went to bed early.  We were both so tired from the ATV tour.  The next day we stopped at Mazatlan for horse riding at the beach!

    Steak looks very good

Steak was great. Maybe the “available anytime” items were just better.
Maybe people like those dishes so that was the reason they were on the “available anytime” menu.
