Thanks for the writeup Eileen. Since I have Monday off next week, I want to try it out since I’m too cheap to pay the $16 dollar difference for dinner. LOL. Gotta love the pictures so there won’t be any surprises there!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Water Grill. It’s good to know that they’re still good after all these years. It’s been about 3 years since I last went; it might be time for another visit soon.

我去gordan ramsay的餐廳也是一堆亞洲人
(我旁邊坐日本人我對面坐韓國人)
不過老外也是不少啦
還看到六十歲以上的老夫老妻來吃想來他們是都有在上網

結果Gordan Ramsey有好吃嗎
我們本來也要去的，但是最後一刻放棄決定去便宜一點的
結果發現一家好好吃的印度店(今晚來寫)

I live and work three blocks away for the Water Grill, and never had the desire to go there. This is a great post, and the images you took are as well. I think I may now re-consider. Thanks for this honest review. The food looks nice.

They extended the dineLA deal till end of February.
You should take advantage of the deal and try lunch there. ^^

When I went, there were a lot of Asians there too… and a lot of people taking pictures. =p
The fish there were soooooo good. and I love that polenta too! But I agree with you that the dessert is just so-so. And thank you for the tip on valeting the car, I’ll do it next time… haha

You didn’t valet your car this time? I hope you didn’t pay too much money. Parking in downtown is horrible.
Lots of people were taking pictures? haha… so many food bloggers now!

Eileen, you got some funny parents. My mom wouldn’t cracked that joke, but she would say something absurd like “how do people eat that little and willing to pay that much?…are they all midgets?” LOL

Water Grill has always been on my “to try” list too. Those photos looked great as usual. I’ll have to go one of these days. Thanks!

I noticed the Asian patrons at Grace too. When we got there at 6:15pm, no Asians except me. Half way through, everyone walked into the door were Asians. One thing i really don’t understand about some of their clothes. I know it doesn’t have a strict dress code, but it is a nice restaurant, the least people could do was to put a shirt on and not to wear jeans. Even khaki would be fine.

There are so many Asians at all dineLA restaurants! Normally there’s hardly any Asian at those fine dining restaurants.
My friends and I always get dressed up to go to nice restaurants. But I guess some people just don’t care (or they don’t know that should).
Last time we went to Grace, some people (well, Asians) came in with t-shirt and jeans.
So the host put them all the way in the back behind the wine cabinet so people couldn’t see them.
People who dressed up nice were seated toward the front of the restaurant.
I just remember years years ago, my sister and I was in New York. We had jeans, t-shirt and sneakers on because we were sightseeing all day.
We were hungry and walked into a Brazilian BBQ restaurant. It turned out to be one of those restaurant people wear their cocktail dresses to.
So we got seated way way way in the back in front of the bathroom. No complaint. We deserve that.
Now I know ALWAYS dress up when you go to nice restaurant!
