Hope you'll like Chinese food in LA.

Have you tried Little Hong Kong Cafe in the same plaza as Restaurant 2117?

That was my favorite Chinese food place in West LA. You're absolute right, Chinese food in WLA is a bad joke sometimes, but Little Hong Kong was decent enough. Too bad, their prices are a bit higher than I am accustomed to for a Chinese Restaurant.

No, I haven't tried Little Hong Kong Cafe, but Dr. P has.
He likes their fried rice. I'll give it a try next time! Thanks for the recommendation.

True story. I used to come here a lot and pick up their roast duck and chicken home. Do you how much it cost seven years ago for a half of a chicken? $13!

When I went to Kim Tar near my home in the city of Artesia, a whole chicken only cost $9.

Yeah, the sticker shock still stay with me as of today. Never will go back really to that particular Hop Woo. I used to like the other one in Chinatown.

$13 for 1/2 chicken? 7 years ago? That's such a rip-off!
Too bad there aren't much choices to have Chinese food in westside.

Eileen....is it in the plaza with subway?
i was going to try this one the other day, but my coworkers stopped me and told me they got a B rating.
And one of my coworker even said they had roaches.....

A B rating never stopped us from going to a restaurant.
We've even been to C restaurants. haha....

Yeah Hop Woo is pretty much the most authentic Chinese restaurant in West LA. I've been there a few times. But it's really not comparable to SGV. Now I wish I can move to SGV to enjoy all the good Chinese food.

If you have time on the weekend, I think it's worth the drive to go to SGV for some cheap, authentic, and much cheaper Chinese food.
