That night after the hike, I started feeling sick. It was a mixture of allergy and cold. Thank Dr. P for being so nice to go out to buy dinner for me. I’ve been wanting to try Apple Pan for the longest time. Dr. P got me what I wanted and made me feel better.

Hickeryburger ($6.20) with Cheese ($0.50)
Dr. P came home and said that the place was packed. He had to fight through a crowd of people just to get the to-go order. He got the Hickeryburger with Cheddar cheese. This was a simple burger. Mayo, lettuce, beef, cheese and Apple Pan’s special hickery BBQ sauce. All the ingredients tasted very fresh. I love the tangy BBQ sauce.

French Fries ($2.00)
French fries is the best companion of burger. Thick cut of golden fries, yum!

Fresh Apple Pie ($5.25) with Ice Cream ($2.00)
We finished the meal with apple pie with ice cream. The fresh apple pie was really good, and the rich vanilla ice cream made it even better.
Thank you, Dr. P. I like how you take good care of me when I’m sick. @^_^@

As a Apple Pan lover and frequenter I have some tips for you. Take-out is not the way to go. To really appreciate the Apple Pan you need to sit at the counter on a stool and watch the cooks do their stuff. The way you’re served the burger, fries, and soda is memorable and you miss out on all that by not actually going. Secondly you ordered the correct burger but I think you’d like it more if you ordered double cheese. Otherwise the taste of the Tilamook cheddar gets lost in the slightly overpowering but lovely hickory sauce. Thirdly, and most importantly, the pie. Apple pie from the Apple Pan is totally subpar once you’ve had the banana cream. My god… the banana cream pie is wonderful. Go now and order the banana cream pie and prepare to taste heaven.
I’ve heard great things about their sandwiches (combination, tuna, and egg salad) but have yet to try them. If you manage to stray from a burger next time let me know what you think.
