My sister woke up at 6:30am to go to Porto’s Bakery to get a birthday cake for my brother’s birthday. What a nice sister! ^^ She went that early to avoid the long line. But she said there were still a lot of people when she got there at 7am.
Meringue Fruit Torte
Yellow sponge cake soaked in a light brandy syrup with a layer of custard and peaches. Finished with torched meringue (old-fashioned boil icing) and decorated with an assortment of fresh fruits.
Meringue Fruit Torte was DELICIOUS! The cake was so moist. Lots and lots of fruit. Meringue was creamy and not overly sweet. My sister cut me a huge piece. I thought it was too much, but then ended up finishing everything and wanted even more.
Fruit Tart
A sweet buttery pastry filled with custard and decorated with seasonal fruits.
Everyone loved the Fruit Tart. Mom even said that next time just get the fruit tart as birthday cake. haha… I also tried mango mousse, bread pudding, potato balls, and guava pastry. Porto’s bread pudding is sooooo good!

That cake looks so delicious. I was hoping to see photos of it after it was sliced (but maybe that was a good thing because I would probably go out and get one after seeing that—and get fatter).
eileen, you should try their tiramisu cake also. its delicious . all of their cakes in general are delicious.
I’ve heard wonderful things about this place. I wish it was closer to where I live so I can try it out.
