I went for the $4.99 for 8 pieces of chicken deal at Popeyes on Earth Day. (Ahhhh I am so behind on my post.) I went to the Covina location after class since it was on the way home. For some reason, I thought there wouldn’t be that many people there. I was wrong, way wrong!

There were people, lots of people. People waiting in line, people waiting inside, people waiting outside, just tons of people. I patiently stood in line.

After standing in line for 15 minutes or so, I placed my order. What? ONLY one $4.99 special per person? But the guy in front of me just ordered 4 of them. So the manager decided to limit the special to one per person since they were afraid they might run out of chicken. That’s not fair. Only if I was there 5 minutes earlier.

So I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited…. for 1 hour and 30 minutes. FOR 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES!!!! 90 minutes of my precious time for 8 pieces of Popeyes chicken. It better be damn good.

Popeyes Bonafide Chicken ($4.99)

Yes, the Popeyes Bonafide Chicken was good. I got 1/2 spicy and 1/2 regular. They made their spicy chicken pretty spicy. The chicken was so crispy on the outside and tender & juicy on the inside. I had a piece of breast meat and it was just perfectly fried.

So the chicken was good, but was it worth 90 minutes of waiting good? Hell no. I don’t think I’ll ever do that again. I rather just pay the extra $7 next time.

Why are there so many ppl there? Most popeyes have $1 tuesdays for two pieces, that averages out to about the same for $5/8 pieces, and I don’t think there’s a limit…

I don’t know. I was one of the suckers, too.

I got KFC 2 pcs grilled chicken with 2 sides and one biscuit free coupon and I went yesterday, I waited for about 40 mins.
It is totally free but the coupon is not avaiable any more online. But I still have that coupon here, if anyone interesting, I can email to you, you can get the free meal again and again by using the same coupon until 5/19/09 -

Wow, I can’t believe you have the patient to wait that long… and it’s not free~ I chose not to eat..hahaa

I couldn’t believe I actually waited, either.
I wanted to leave after 10 minutes. Then I saw the 50 people waiting behind me,
thought “well, I already invested 10 minutes…. can’t leave now.”
I went through this thought about every 10 minutes.
After 9 times, I got my chicken….
