Scoops was BUSY on Saturday night.  Crowds of people just kept on coming in the door.

[Los Angeles] [Korean] Hae Jang Chon Restaurant

Hae Jang Chon Restaurant
3821 W 6th St
Los Angeles, CA 90020
(213) 389-8777

We decided to have all you can eat Korean BBQ for dinner because (1) I love Korean BBQ; (2) it’s cheap and affordable; and (3) Little J is growing and that boy can eat!  He loves meat and all you can eat seemed to be the best choice to feed a hungry boy.

Hae Jang Chon is located in a Korean plaza off 6th St, next to Cafe Nandarang (ahhh… drinking in Ktown back in the days…).  We got to the restaurant around 5:15pm.  No wait.

Shrine Circus

April 18, 2009, Saturday. We met up with Wen, her hubby, little J, Miho, and her man at Shrine Auditorium for some circus fun.  Thanks to Goldstar, we were able to get the ticket at 50% off price of $7.50.  Not counting Cirque de Soleil show, this is my FIRST time going to a circus!

There were some clowns at the door greeting people.  I don’t know…. somehow both Dr. P and I find clowns a little… creepy.

[Los Angeles] [Burgers] The Apple Pan

The Apple Pan
10801 W. Pico Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90064
(310) 475-3585

Friday night, 12:00am, Dr. P  was hungry.  He didn’t want fast food.  He doesn’t like 7-Eleven hot dog as much as I do.  He didn’t feel like going to a sit-down place.  Where to get decent somewhat gourmet food to go at midnight in West LA?  Of course, The Apple Pan.

Hickoryburger ($6.70)
Served with mayonnaise, our own sauce, pickles, lettuce.  With melted natural Tillamook Cheddar $0.50 extra.

Dr. P got his favorite, Hickoryburger.  Juicy beef pattie, melted cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickle, mayo and Apple Pan’s special Hickory smoked BBQ sauce.  I wasn’t hungry and just wanted a bite.  I had one bite, then a second bite, then a third bite.  All of a sudden, I felt hungry.

Adopt a Greyhound?

This semester, I am taking a work experience class.  We need 4 work experience to graduate from the Registered Veterinary Technician program.  My first work experience is to work with rescued greyhounds from Greyhound Pets of America.  We get 2 sets of 8 dogs a semester.  They are rescued race dogs from Mexico.  Some of them are getting older, and some of them just don’t run fast enough.  So they were about to be killed and were rescued by this non-profit organization.  They were abused pretty bad and weren’t properly cared for.  So we take care of them for the semester, treat any disease they might have, neuter/spay them, and clean their teeth.  Also most of them do not know how to interact with people in the beginning.  We try to socialize with them, get them used to people and trust people.  By the time they leave our school, they are 100% ready for adoption.

I just finished working with the first set of 8 dogs.  It was such a rewarding experience.  The dogs were so scared and timid in the beginning.  In 7 weeks, they had became so friendly, affectionate, and sweet toward people.  They finally learned to just be happy and know that there are people like us who love them.  3 of the dogs already got adopted.  Does anybody want to adopt an adorable greyhound?

Michelle

Michelle has the prettest eyes.  She loves to be hugged and patted.  She also likes to play catch.  She gives little kisses with her nose on my nose all the time.
